Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if smoking cause recurring sore throat which could be due to viral pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. Usually smoking weakens the immunity of body and make body pron to infection , specially when you are already susceptible.
I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles or betadine gargles 2-3 times a day , quit smoking and start vitamin C tablet for 10 days. You should take combination of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizer.
Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined if symptoms keeps on persisting. Keep sipping warm water. Drink hot milk along with pinch of turmeric. Also take healthy diet to boost the immunity .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
