Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My period was due on 17th march.. earlier my cycle was regular of 28 days but from last 2 months its irregular and varied from 36 to 30 days...its 19 and my period is still due.. took a pregnancy test today morning which was negative. Is it possible tha I am pregnant
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, you really don't need to worry. Skipped period does not necessarily indicate pregnancy. Sometimes hormonal, emotional, physical and even environmental factors play a role in regulating menstrual cycle. If you think that you are pregnant, and you missed your period, you must do the test at least 21-28 days after the previous unprotected sexual encounter. Remember, Stress is one major cause of menstrual abnormalities.
Take care, Regards
