Does Right Hip Pain That Goes To Lower Back Indicate Degenerative Hip?

I am having right hip pain that goes to my lower back. I am a 60 yr old floor nurse. I do lots of walking. I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis in my 40 s. I also have degenerative disc disease since age 21. I am wondering if it is a sign of a degenerative hip.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome to HCM. As a health care provider you might know that osteoporosis can effect the vertebrae and the hip joints.
The most appropriate course of action at this point would be to visit your doctor, who might order x-rays of your spine and hip to look at the bones. After that your doctor can tell you specifically about the region which is causing the problem.
In addition your physician will give you a prescription for Calcium supplements, and vitamin D.
Thankyou for giving us the opportunity to help you. Have a nice day.
