Does Redness On The Stomach Aggravate While On Keflex For A UTI?

I HAVE AN URINARY TRACT INFECTION AND HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED KFLEX, BUT MY STOMACH ON THE OUTSIDE IS EXTREMELY RED. I WAS ALSO GIVEN DIFLUCAN, BEING TOLD THAT IT WAS A YEAST INFECTION, BUT NONE IN THE VAGINA, AND NOT TO TAKE IT FOR ANOTHER 3 DAYS. WILL THE REDNESS ON MY STOMACH GET REAL SERIOUS?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per the narration and my clinical experience co relation, the current condition of redness over the stomach area relates to the possible skin lesion, rather than a UTI related disturbance. I recommend to apply ice every 4 hourly and keep the condition under observation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
