Does Pravastatin With Effient, Ranexa And Zetia Cause Painful Thigh And Arms?

I am currently taking pravastatin along with effient, ranexa, and zetia. The pain in the thigh, upper arms and knee is almost unbearable. Are there any supplements that can help reduce the pain. My legs also feel tight and I noticed unexplained weight gain over tha past couple of days.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the pain maybe related to your pravastatin. Statins can cause muscle pain in some persons.

You should discuss this possibility with your doctor , he or she may suggest blood tests (Eg cpk) , a reduction of the dose of the medication or complete discontinuation of the medication for a short period.
He or she may also suggest an alternative if it is confirmed that it is the pravastatin.

It is best to determine the cause of the pain before using the supplement. Once the cause is found, it can be treated.

I hope this helps
