Does Persistent Rectal Bleeding Require Immediate Medical Attention?

52 year old fit male. Have had on and off bleeding from the rectum when going for a few years but now in the past few months it has become more often. Also have been lethargic and weaker than usual. That is not me as I have been active and in the gym for the past 35 years. Do you think this warrants getting this checked. Have not had a colonoscopy

Hello

Yes, you have to go for colonoscopy as soon as possible as am sorry to say this, but cancer colon is being increased in the few last years for men above 50 years old.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
