Logynon is a hormonal oral
contraceptive, which belongs to 'combined-pill' category. It is composed of
ethinylestradiol and
levonorgestrel.
Logynon works by over-riding the menstrual cycle.
It is a
triphasic combined oral contraceptive that works to prevent
pregnancy in three ways.
1. It effectively trick the body into thinking that a normal ovulation has occurred, but prevents the egg from being released.
2. The hormones increase the natural mucus thickness at the neck of the womb making it difficult for the sperm to reach the egg.
3. It also causes changes in the quality of the womb lining (endometrium) so that it is less likely that a fertilised egg can implant.
The twinge you could have felt might be due to some other reason and most probably not due to ovulation, if you have been taking the pills regularly.
