Does Overactive Thyroid Cause Weakness, Tiredness And Anxiety?
At the moment I feel tired, bloated and very weak. I can sleep for hours yet still feel tired, I have little or no appetite but the constant need to eat, I am quite slim and I m lacking motivation also I am very forgetfull at the moment. I have anxiety problems, am I showing symptoms of an overactive thyroid?
Hi dear user I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Tiredness, weakness, the lack of motivatoin, forgetfulness can be signs of hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the body lacks sufficient thyroid hormone. Since the main purpose of thyroid hormone is to "run the body's metabolism," it is understandable that people with this condition will have symptoms associated with a slow metabolism.
My advice is to consult an endocrinologist in your area because you need to do the thyroid test:TSH, freeT3 and freeT4 and an thyroid ultrasound. This tests are necessary to reach the right diagnose and than to take the right treatement.(Hormone replacement therapy or Levothyroxine)
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Thank you for using HCM. Wish you good health.
