Does Oral Sex Cause HIV Transmission?

Does performing oral sex while having a cold or sinus infection increase your risk for acquiring HIV (due to swollen mucous membranes and weakened immune system)? The person receiving oral sex has a generous amount of pre-ejaculate but did not ejaculate in my mouth.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Oral sex carry a low risk of HIV transmission when compared to anal sex and vaginal sex as per CDC, Atlanta.
More over in the absence of ejaculation the risk becomes negligible.
Pre-ejaculate do contain virus but in very low quantity. The chances of getting HIV through this is a remote possibility, that too when there is no ulcers or problems over your buccal mucosa, gum, tongue etc.

Hello
Immune system was low , ejaculated in the mouth or not ejaculated does not matter , read this carefully and you will get your answer.
Oral sex is a much less efficient mode of transmission of HIV .
Although HIV can be isolated typically in low titers from the saliva of a small proportion of INFECTED individuals ( I mentioned HIV infected ,but in your case ,even you didn't know the status of that person ), there is NO convincing evidence that saliva or oral sex can transmit HIV infection .
Saliva contains endogenous anti viral protective substances which protects HIV replication and infection, so you are not at risk of HIV infection .
Since this was oral sex and it was oral so no matter of enlargement of mucous membrane or lymph nodes or common colds.
Hope this will be useful for you.
