Does One Need A Surgery To Correct A Migrated Surgical Clip To Pleural Cavity After A Lobectomy?

I have had a right lower lobectomy in the past three months and just discovered by CT that a surgical clip has migrated to the pleural cavity and is causing a great deal of pain. How dangerous is this? What would the surgery entail to remove this clip?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The migrated surgical clip that is causing a great deal of pain in the area needs to be removed surgically for relief. This may get fibrosed or infected causing further problems. It is best to go for surgery.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
