Does Mild Glute Medius And Minimus Tendonopathy With Fluid In Insertion Mean Tendon Tear?
Hi. I am having severe right gluteal pain that radiates down my right leg. I ve just had a hip arthroscope to fix a small labral tear but the pain still remains. My MRI states mild glute medius and minimus tendonopathy and a trace of fluid deep in the gluteus minimus insertion . Does this suggests a tendon tear and would cortisone injections help me? Thanks!
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that you are having pain right hip region which radiates to right lower limb. MRI shows probably tendinitis, It is not tear. Cortisone will be effective but after cortisone you should rest for few weeks as cortisone increases chances of tendon rupture if strenuous activity is continued. You can discuss your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
