Does Mild Case Of Bulimia Cause Chest Pain?

I m really scared. I just drank a glass of water, and i am experiencing mild chest pain. For four months I have been experiencing a mild case of bulimia, where I would induce vomiting to get rid of any unhealthy substances in my body. I didn t really care much for my body image, because I am already skinny... But I don t want bad food in me. I had just read effects of the disorder and now I m scared... Is it possible that my chest pain is caused by a rupture/tear in my esophagus? I read that this is fatal... And now I have severe anxiety. I haven t been able to sleep... I can t tell my parents. I don t want to disappoint them, as I am the poster child... And this would ruin my reputation... I m really scared and I ve turned to the Internet as a last resort. Please help.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Bulimia in itself is nervous related disorder. Over and above you also have high anxiety. You are unable to sleep, tell your parents. The chest must have been caused by three aspects. Your vomiting stress, your anxiety and the acid reflex.

You must understand bulimia first. Bulimia is an illness in which a person has regular episodes of eating a very large amount of food (bingeing) and feels a loss of control over eating. The person then uses different ways, such as vomiting or laxatives (purging), to prevent weight gain.

In your case, you are already under weight. I suggest you need psychiatric treatment to cure your problem. Please do not delay.

Hope this answers your query. Further clarifications are welcome.
Good luck. Take care.
