Does Menopause Cause Weakness In The Legs And Dizziness?

I had a total hysterectomy in January and had cancer, without any more treatments because they got it all. However, I am going through Menopause and I d like to know a few things. I have weakness in my arms and legs and I m dizzy a lot. My ears do feel funny, but I ve always had trouble with ear infections. I have gained about 10 pounds and I hate it. I have bipolar and I m depressed a lot. I ve tried to tell my doctor about these things, but he s just happy that the cancer hasn t returned. I tell him the symptoms that I m having and he tells me that it s all wives tales and that I shouldn t be going through these things. I have Diabetes too, and in the past two years I have lost 60 pounds and I m very upset that I ve gained some back. Is this all normal for going through Menopause? Can you help me?

hi mam,as a female,i can understand your distress.menopause is a condition where the symptoms are vary from woman to woman.as you mentioned total hysterectomy,if both the ovaries are also removed, then the menopause is set abruptly causing excessive symptoms.weight gain and mood swings are typical.dizziness and weakness of arms and legs are not common but may occur due to slowed metabolism.the following can be done to smoothen the menopause :
1)enough sleep is recommended
2)avoidance of caeffine,hot beverages,spicy foods.
3)regular exercise
4)relaxation techniques like YOGA,PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION TECHNIQUES are found to be helpful especially for mood swings.
5)balanced diet.
if your problems persist even after observing the above tips, you can go for a neurology consultation.any other problems to be addressed, kindly let me know.thank you.take care.bye.
I find this answer helpful
