Does Low Intake Of Carbohydrates Cause Extreme Shivering?

Just drank entire blender of cold smoothy (frozen banana, cool apple, frozen kale, spinach, and chard). Prior to that I ate 1/4 cup salmon and 1/4 cup quinoa. After drinking the smoothy, I started shivering to the point of my teeth chattering. I m drinking some hot tea now, but I m still shivering. Could this be caused by not getting enough carbohydrates?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think the shivering you are experiencing may be related to low sugar food. You had a full meal and low sugar index isn't much of concern.
I think you possibly lowered the body temperature too much using too much ice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
