Does Lactogen Have Side Effects?

Hi Doc,

My baby is just 20 days old. He is sleeping while breast feeding. He falls asleep in 2 minutes of breast feeding. i'm just worried. We have been giving lactogen 1 once or twice a day as he is not taking the breast milk. But we are not sure if lactogen has any side effects. Please advise.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
No, lactogen does not have any side effects.
If the child falls asleep during breast feeding just rub the feet or the head to gently wake him up. Its ok if he feeds with closed eyes. Encourage to complete one breast. Gradually stop giving lactogen as mother's milk is the best for the baby.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you
