Does Intake Of Plan B Cause Brownish Vaginal Discharge?

I had a sex on the last day of my period and I took the plan b pill about 30 hours later just out of paranoia. Now about 5 days later I started bleeding a brownish blood and it lasted three days. What s going on? Am i pregnant? Is this a typical result of plan b?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Plan B is an emergency contraceptive pill. It needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse to avoid unwanted or accidental pregnancy.
What you have done is right by taking Plan B by 30 hours of unprotected intercourse. Since you had intercourse towards the last phase of your periods, there are chances that you would get brownish discharge for a couple of days as the body would have prepared for the periods to begin.
In any case, Plan B should show its effect by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of intake of the pill. If this doesn't happen, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
