Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Intake Of Percocet Cause Heart Palpitations And Itchy Throat?
I ve been taking two Percocet every four hours for the past two days now after getting my tonsils and adenoids removed and I ve experienced mild to medium itching, at times to the point I couldn t sleep, and now it feels like my heart is racing and palpitating and I cannot breathe normally. I feel like I need to let my breath out and push for longer to get it all out before I can take another breath and my tongue has randomly been gliding against the roof of my mouth when I m half asleep then stops. Is it safe to continue taking this medication or should I call my doctor?
If you are experiencing itching, it is possible that you may be allergic to the medication. You would need to consider stopping it and you should contact your doctor and let him or her know about your symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
