Does Intake Of Bromocriptine Cause Irregular Menstruation?

Good day doc, please I have been on bromocriptine for 3months now, about entering the 4th month, which I take to treat macro adenoma of the pituitary gland lesion. But I haven t been ovulation before I started the medication and while on it, now my period is irregular, can it be the bromocriptine?

Hello, Welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your query.

No, Bromocriptine has no side effects to cause irregular menstruation. Since you have been having irregular menstruation, medical conditions that may cause such a symptom is hormonal problems, thyroid issues, anemia, PCOS, etc.

You are suggested to visit a gynae get clinically assessed. Get all blood & imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Take care.
