Does Inability To Fold Knees When In Straight Condition In Sleep Except By External Force Mean Osteocyte?
hello doctor I am unable to fold my knee ,when in straight condition in sleep. This happened twice or thrice in the recent past. After some time,I could fold the knee with some efforts with hands, this was scary. The doctor says there is an osteocyte. Please advise me
I have studied your case. Your symptoms suggest locking of knee due to torn meniscus.
Meniscus injury can be managed by arthroscopic repair, and same day you can go home. As per your symptoms you need to do physiotherapy and knee exercises to improve range of motion . If pain persist then you may need to do MRI again to see for any functional defect.
small meniscus tear can be managed conservatively with physiotherapy with USG andTENS.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
