Does High BP Cause Swelling In Legs, Ankles And Feet?

I have swelling in both my legs, ankles and feet. It came on suddenly about a month ago. I have high blood pressure which is treated by prescription meds. I also was diagnosed with Afib within the last year which I also treat with meds. Question what may have contributed to the swelling coming up so suddenly?

Good day and thanks for asking us to advice you. Yes, untreated or badly managed hypertension might cause kidney failure leading to swelling over the body. you should see your doctor and do a kidney function test to know the eGFR. if the kidney function test are ok, the drugs youuing might need to be reviewed as some drugs can ankle swelling. thank you.
