Does High BP Cause Pounding Heart And Tingling Sensation In Hands And Feet?

Our son who is 33 sent to the ER yesterday with a pounding heart, tingling in his hands & feet & cold sweats. They did an EKG & took blood tests but could not find anything. They told him to go home & follow up with his doctor. Do you have suggestions for him to have checked out? His blood pressure was high when he went in but came down over the time period he was there. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Palpitations are assessed with an ECG, which was done, complete blood count, thyroid function tests and tests for electrolyte levels

If some of these blood tests were not done, then he may need to have them done at his doctor's office
In addition, with the history of tingling, blood tests to check vitamin b12, folate and screening for diabetes should also be done

I hope this helps
