Does Heart Failure Cause Fluid In Lungs?

hello doctor,My dad had a stent 5 years back, two years before they removed fluids form his lungs,now recently they removed fluids ,but the doctor is saying is heart is functioning good ,but when i was looking in the internet I ca me across lungs in the fluid is caused because of heart failure.when we went for the check up doctor asked him to stop taking Asprin .I"m worried because the doctor think is of no use they are letting him to be happy for his last days

I read your question carefully and understand your concern .
Fluid in lung can result from many medical conditions and congestice heart failure is one of them.
To determine the cause of the fluid in the lung, a fluid sample is usually taken with a procedure called thoracentesis .If the fluid is transudate(the fluid similar in character to the fluid normally present in the pleural space) in the setting of heart failure suggests heart failure as the most possible cause of it.
In this case the treatment is that of congestive heart failure with adding on therapy some diuretics always according to the consultation both with the pulmonologist and cardiologist.
