Does Frequent Urination Require Medical Attention?

Hello, My name is Kim, for the past week, Ive been experiencing some discomfort in my bladder. I urinate almost every 5 minutes and my bladder still feels like it is full, but when i urinate, its only 1 or 2 drops. Is this something to be concerned about or is it something that will go away after a few days?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should seek medical attention. Urine retention could ultimately affect your kidneys, but this will take long. Your doctor will do a bladder scan, and possibly catheterize you to empty your bladder. Depending on your age (and sex) a PSA level and kidney function tests will be performed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
