Does Elevated ALT And AST Cause Difficulty In Conceiving?

My daughter is 29, married and actively trying to have a baby...she recently had bloodwork done and her results came back with her Ast -83 and her Alt -43....her OBGYN has her on prenatal vitamins.....should she be worried about those numbers...she is having a repeat blood test next week....she is not a drinker...never was...occassionally she will have a beer or some wine...but she is avoiding alcohol while trying to get pregnant

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

ASt and ALT are liver enzymes with a normal value less than 40 IU/mL for females. Although the level of both ALT and AST is slightly high, however, it is unlikely to interfere with conception.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
