Does Dry Cough Suggest Pneumonia?

Question My 5 and a half month old so has had a cold for the past 2 days (bad cough, runny nose, fever around 100.5) pretty much the common cold. It seems to be getting worse now, especially last night. He woke up with an extreamly dry cough and seemed like it was hard for him to breath (cough was very tight) any chance this could be pnemonnia?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
In my opinion you should consult neonetologist immediately as it is not normal to cough at five and half years of age. He may need chest admission in hospital. There are other possibilities not only pneumonia so don't waste time and consult neonetologist immediately.
