Does Drilling Away At A Bone To Help Release The Nerve Be Useful To Stop Muscle Spasms?

hi ive had a discectomy and fusion on c5 c6 c7 a few years ago, im getting lots of pain all the time. spasms are severve, i saw a neurosergeon recently and he said he would drill away at a bone to help release the nerve. will this stop my muscle spasms as well/

Possibly nerve is impinged somewhere which your surgeon thinks is necessary to remove the encroachmentwhich he may confirm with MRI scan etc before intervening
