Does Distended Abdomen Occur After Metastasis To Abdomen?

75 y/o female with long standing history of smoking. Now has pleural effusions on r side requiring 3 thoracentesis during last 2 months. Now abdomen very distended requiring paracentesis. Ct reveals right mainstem mass, can we assume metasisis to abdomen? My mom wants very minimal treatment to prolong the inevitable

Yes, definitely. It can be metastasis to abdomen particularly to liver, as ascites is present. Abdominal paracentesis is required for symptomatic relief as well as for diagnostic analysis of abdominal fluid.
