Does Dislocation Of The Xiphoid Bone Need Medical Treatment?

I think I have displaced my xiphoid bone. Some years ago while working I have put a pressure on this part and I remember that it has produced a movement on this part, now I can feel like if this bone his on his side rather than on good place. Has it was not painful I did nothing, but now I am asking if it is dangerous and if it is possible to put the bone in place with minimal intervention or kinesitherapy?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should consult with an orthopedic specialist and run x-ray of the chest bone to see if it is really dislocating and how to manage this.

If no symptom so far, then, nothing serious has happened. However, with the passing of years, bone changes might also affect the internal organs. That's why it's better to consult with an orthopedic specialist first.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
