Does Diabetes Cause Headache And Dark Stripe On Thumb Nail?

I experienced blinding headaches in the right temple the past couple of days, pain running down my arm yesterday and today my left leg. Today I looked at my fingernails and there is a dark stripe running down the middle of each thumb nail and a jagged line beneath the ring fingernail. None of that was there before the blinding headaches and pain. I m diabetic, have diabetic neuropathy; diabetes, heart attacks, strokes, and high blood pressure run in my family. I ve never smoked, drank alcohol, or did drugs. I ll be 46 in two months, I m female.

welcome to hcm,
both high blood sugar and low blood sugar can cause severe head aches...
High blood sugar, or hyperglycemia, also can cause headaches in diabetics. High blood sugar can develop over several days or hours and can be the result of eating too much or too frequently, exercising too little, taking too little diabetes medication, stress, illness or injury

A hypoglycemia-related headache often results after missing a meal, over-exercising, drinking alcohol, or taking too much insulin or other medication.

If you think your headache is related to low blood sugar, confirm it by checking your blood glucose level with your meter
