Does Dark Spots And Discoloration On Upper Inner Thighs Indicate Fungal Infection?
I have dark spots and discoloration on my upper inner thighs, moving between my butt cheeks, where is gets much worse. The color is a dark brown and gets grey brown where it spreads to my bottom. Is this some kind of fungal infection? Im also worried about diabetes because my mother has diabetes. I m very self conscious of this and I can t seem to find any help online. Im pretty young so I can t really just go to the doctors and my family thinks I m a hypochondriac. Any help would be appreciated.

HI
Thanks for posting your query.
Yes it could be due to Fungal infection only . If possible kindly upload the picture so that I can be more sure .
For fungal infection you need to use Antifungal cream ( Candid B ) for 3-4 weeks . Keep that area dry most of the time.
The only other possibility is Acanthosis Nigrican. This is a condition where skin thickening / darkening can happen near inner thigh region. This usually indicates either diabetes or increased risk of diabetes. In that view I would recommend to get tested for Diabetes.
Get Fasting and Postprandial blood sugars checked and revert back.
Hope this information was useful to you. Any clarifications feel free to ask .
