Does Creased Earlobe Indicate Risk Of Kidney Disorder In New Borns?

I have a new granddaughter and she is 1 month old. She was born with a notch in her right ear lobe. The doctor at the hospital said she would need further testing because they have found a connection to this condition and possible potential problems with the kidneys. She has already had 1 cat scan that we are waiting results on. I have never heard of this, any comments?

Creased earlobe does not have any proven relationship with kidney disease.
Some studies shows association between creases earlobes and coronary artery disease in the future. But many other studies had disproved this hypothesis. Some links between creased earlobes and premature aging has been hypothesized but solid evidences are lacking.
This peculiar condition is called as "franks sign" in medical literature and many notable personalities had this condition including including former US president George Bush and Hollywood actor/director Mel Gibson.
You don't need to worry regarding this and I suggest you to take an echo to rule out any structural heart disease.
