Does Consumption Of Nexium Cause Urine To Smell Funny?
I am a 36 yr old female and have been DX with GERD. For a few days now when I urine it has a funny smell like ammonia, I take a 40mg of NEXIUM in the morning and 150 of RANITIDINE before bed. I have been on this medication since October last year. can these medications cause that funny smell? I have no other symptoms ( itchy, burning, pain etc.) when I urine.

I really appreciate your concern and looking to the history given here I could say that the smell that you experienced in your urine may not be due to the medicine that you are taking but may be due to the low intake of water and this increases the specific gravity and gives ammonia like odor, take care and have a nice day.
