Does Blood Contact With HIV Infected Person Spread HIV?
Hi doctor, Few months back I was traveling to vietnam and my friend bring me for massage.
I was drunk but I am pretty sure that I do not have any sexual intercourse with that lady. I bite her nipple and she feel pain and push me away. I am not sure is that any blood come into my mouth and at that time, there is an ulcer in my mouth. Am I in the risk of infected HIV or other STD?
thank you for query.the chance of transmission of HIV by oral route is very very rare.More so just she tells pain it does not mean blood has entered your mouth. The chance even if she is HIV positive by oral is rare as virus does not survive through the GI tract.Only if ulcers are present in the mouth there are minor possibilities.Herpes simplex is another possibility as it can transmit by skin to skin touch or kiss.Herpes is ruled out as months have passed without any symptoms in you.So if you want to rule out HIV go for HIV testing. You can get back for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and venereologist.
Hi If there is any bleeding and if you are having any ulcer in your mouth and if the massage girl is HIV positive then there is a chance of contracting HIV and that too very less. Generally HIV virus do not survive in open air. To clear off your doubt's you can undergo an HIV test at your nearest ICTC( integrated counselling and testing Centre) and clear off your mind. Moreover you also do not have any symptoms of HIV also like repeated fevers, Diarrhea, weight loss, respiratory infection
