Does Antibiotics Taken For Diabetes, Hypertension Interact With Latanoprost Eye Drops?

My husband has open angle glaucoma, for which he is using eye drops, latanaprost, Azopt, and beta blocker drops. He also takes a lot of other medications for diabetes and hypertension. Could there be an interaction with these medications, an interaction that is harmful to his eyes?

Hello,

I wouldn't expect glaucoma to get worse with antidiabetic or antihypertensive medications. For example commonly used antidiabetic medications do not interact with his current glaucoma regimen (like metformin, sitagliptin, pioglitazone, glimepiride).

If you'd like a more thorough answer then please post another question and don't forget to inform me about the complete list of his medications.

I hope I've answered your query. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Kind Regards,
