Does alcohol interact with rabies vaccination? Good day! I got bitten by our 2 month old puppy last november 29. I got scheduled anti-rabies shot last december 1 with anti-tetanus. followed by dec 5 and dec 8 took another shot of anti-rabies vaccine. Today we have a Xmas party, I forgot that I should not drink alcohol for about a month. I drink a 5% alcohol vol of beer for about 500ml and I stopped after that coz I remember that I should avoid. Does it affects my anti-rabies shot? What will be the effect? My next vaccine will be on dec 31 for anti rabies and january 3 for anti-tetanus. Thanks! Please reply..

I have gone through your query. There is no interaction of alcohol with rabies vaccine. Most physicians ask to avoid alcohol as it decreases the immunity. So better to avoid it.
