Does A Bump On My Daughter S Head After An Injury Need Immediate Medical Attention?

My 2 daughters were building a tent made of sheets in their room. They used some rocks to anchor the sheets to their shelves on the walls. My 7 yr old tugged on the sheet by accident and the rock fell off and hit her on the head. Slightly to the left of the top of the skull. There seems to be a large goose egg there now. I have applied ice. I have checked for all signs of a concussion there does not seem to be any. How do I know if I should rush her to the ER or not

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I would like to suggest you that be vigilant on the following points: (after the injury) Was there any unconsciousness? Was there any drowsiness/vomiting/confusion/memory loss?

If the answer to all the above is no then just chill and relax. You can just give some analgesics to the kid. Be vigilant for any danger sign.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
