Does A Bluish Ganglion In The Palm, Painful To The Touch, Need Medical Attention?

I have what might be a ganglion in the palm of my index finger close to the palm of my hand and painful when touched. I have had it for a few days. I think I might have pinched the skin. It feels solid and looks somewhat blueish. Do I need to see a doctor?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is nothing but a being (non-cancerous) swelling arising from the tendon sheath.

Consult an orthopedic and get evaluated. You can opt for aspiration or excision if the swelling. Nothing much to worry as it is a simple procedure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
