Does Vyvanse Help To Treat Binge Eating Disorder?

Hi there, I have binge eating disorder and ADHD. I was taking adderal 20mg for my ADHD But have been too embarrassed to admit my binge eating disorder. I did some research and it said that the FDA has approved vyvanse for binge eating disorder patients I was wondering if I could try that instead?

I can understand your concern. Adderall is an Amphetamine drug and the drug is a stimulant drug. The drug is known to reduce appetite and can help in eating disorders also. But the drug is not a first choice drug for binge eating disorders. Drugs like Fluoxetine which is a SSRI drug can help. Fluoxetine can help to reduce the episodes of binge eating and will help to improve the anxiety underlying the eating impulses. Please visit a psychiatrist for proper evaluation and for prescription of the drugs. Combination of Adderall and Fluoxetine yields best results.
