Does Truvada Cause Weight Gain?

HI, I m an HIV - male and I have been taking Truvada for a year. I m 53 years old, always very fit and muscular. i m 5 9 and my average weight is 185; however, in the last 6 months I have been gaining weight and I cannot come done from 203 ponds.. My diet has not change at all neither my workout routine. This is all belly fat. Could Truvada be causing this?

Hello, Since all this drugs are new. Not much evidence in literature regarding these. But there are studies which confirms weight gain in long term truvada usage. you can lose those abdominal fat by increasing physical activity and watching your diet. hope this helps. thank you.
