Does Tamiflu Cause Dry Eyes And Nose?

Hi! I ve had the flu since Monday at 9pm. I was officially diagnosed yesterday, Wednesday, and given Tamiflu. I ve taken 3 pills. 1 last night and 2 today, all 12 hrs apart. The last time I had the flu was 20 yrs ago, so I don t remember the symptoms. I m 52 yrs old. My question is,,, I have developed a deep, phlemy cough in the last day Also, my eyes are super dry. Actually, everything feels dried out, nose, eyes, mouth. and my nose feels stuffed when it didn t before. Are any of these the flu or are they side effects of the Tamiflu? Thanks for your help!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Tamiflu does not cause dry eyes. Check whether you had antihistamines, like Cetirizine, recently. Sometimes it is seen as a normal phenomenon while having flu. No need to worry and it will subside on its own.

Thanks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
