Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com, providing better healthcare for you. Seasonale (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) contains a combination of female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary). Take Seasonale exactly as prescribed by your doctor, to have a successful contraception. A common genitourinary side effect has been breakthrough bleeding and spotting, especially during the first several cycles of oral contraceptive use. However, nonhormonal causes of such bleeding should be excluded, so please see your gynecologist. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback and five star rating, to help me assist you in a better way. Click at 'I Find This Answer Helpful too'.
