Does Prednisone Cause Weight Gain?

i have been taking some prednisone prescribed by my doctor for being exposed to poison oak , therefore rashes and swelling has been experienced, all is getting well, yet I have noticed a bit of weight gain and more muscle definition, I am thin posture, 117 pounds and I do exercise, are these changes due to me taking this medicine

Hello, thank you for using Healthcaremagic. I read your query and I understand your concern. Weight gain is one of the side effects of corticosteroid therapy. It is a fat acumulation in the face and body and the legs becone slimmer. It is otherwise called Cushing face syndrome.
