Does Paroxetine Cause Excessive Sweating?

Hi, I'm a relatively healthy 56 year old active woman, who takes Paroxetine (Antidepressant) and has been fro 10 years. I'm suffering with excessive sweating and also bad allergies, sinus and hayfever, and going through menopause, would the Paroxetine be causing the excessive sweating, as I'm not on any other medication?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Paroxetine is a SSRI drug and it a good anti-anxiety and antidepressant drug. The drug has anticholenergic properties which can cause dry mouth, sedation, constipation, weight gain, nausea etc side effect. It doesn't cause sweating as side effect. You are taking the drug since last 10 years and are currently in menopausal age. As per my opinion excessive sweating you are having could be due to hot flashes and hormonal changes of menopausal syndrome. There is no need to get worried about paroxetine. I would advise you to consult a doctor if excessive sweating persist.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
