Does Oxycodone Affect The Functioning Of Liver?

today I went to my pain management doctor, I have been with him for 8 years. I have small nerve fiber polyneuropathy. I get Roxicodone hcl (oxycodone hcl) 15 mg, this pharmacy tried to tell me they changed mtg and that is why my pill was different. I looked it up to discover it was oxycodone with Tylenol. years ago, I was told by my pcp that my liver was being effected and not to take it anymore. since that time my pain doc put me on Roxicodone. what do I do? go back to pharmacy or go back to my doctor?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If the function of the liver is damaged I suggest you to stop the medication and discuss with your doctor about an alternative medication. There are certain medications that are liver toxic and should be avoided in this case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
