Does Motelukast Taken Regularly Cause Nasal Bleeding?

Yes, please. My question is regarding montelukast ( singulair) for about 15 years for bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis. Lately, about 3 weeks ago, my left nostril started bleeding enough to clean out a large box of tissues. Is this the result of taking singulair.??

Hello, i just read through your query and feel that your condition is not because of Montelukast .
Montelukast is not known to cause this side effect and that too after so many years of usage it is unlikely that it is due to montelukast.
What you describe is called as Epistaxis and that is usually due to the following reasons-
1-Dry weather
2-topical antihistamines or corticosteroids sprayed into the nose.
3-Deviated nasal septum
4-Bacterial, viral, and allergic rhinosinusitis causes mucosal inflammation and may lead to epistaxis.
5-blood disorders.

Since this was just a single event it is not a cause of much concern.
