I was a meth user for 5 years and have been clean for 6 years, cold turkey. I am in the best health of my life considering my past. I work out (crossfit) I am the strongest I have ever been. I consider myself to be very fortune in my circumstances, especially my health. My regular doctor knows ALL of my history and use. During my meth use, I developed Mono. Since then I get what I call flare ups after stressful situations or once I slow down from a busy mom/work/school schedule, my body kind of gives up for about a week. I have all the Mono symptoms, my dr says its chronic. I was diagnosed about a year ago with Hypothyroidism. I currently take Synthroid, OTC herbal supplements for general well being, and Wellbutrin. My question is if or how did my meth use affect my thyroid disorder if it in fact played a part in it at all? Could Mono affect it and how? No one on my father or mothers side has a family history of thyroid disorders. It did develop after my 2nd pregnancy, which at first I was HYPERthryoid and then turned into to Hypo.
