Does Lisinopril Cause Life Threatening Allergic Reaction?

I HAD A LIFE THREATNING ALERGIC REACTION. I take lisinoril/hydrchlorothiazide, I also ate shrimp how do I determine which caused this. I have never been allergic to shellfish or my lisinopril (I have taken lisinopril for 10yrs. I have eaten shellfish for many years prior to this)

Hi

Thanks for writing to HCM

Since you are taking lisinopril for 10 odd years it's least like that lisinopril might have caused this severe adverse reactions. How since there are a variety of shellfish available and the allergic potential (antigenicity) many vary from one on to another, chances are more likely that this was responsible.

Do let us know how did you find this interaction.
