Lialda contains 'mesalamine', which affects a substance in the body that causes inflammation, tissue damage and diarrhea.
It is used to treat active, mild to moderate
ulcerative colitis.
More common side effects include with its use include:
constipation,
dyspepsia,
skin rash and vomiting.
It does not cause swelling of extremities.
Wheres, the other medication what you are using 'Budesonide', is a synthetic corticosteroid. It can cause certain side effects you are experiencing due to fluid retention. Swelling of the extremities, palpitations due to increased blood pressure, headache,
tiredness, weight gain, nausea and vomiting are some of the side effects commonly encountered with use of such corticosteroid medications.
Kindly review the intake of medications with your doctor if you are experiencing such symptoms and continues to bother you.
