Does LDL Vary With Great Values?

Someone on Lipitor 20mg whose LDL in September 2010 was 134 is now non-fasting @ 71. Can that difference in values happen in a 6 week period of time as well? 76 yo male from Barbados, Wt. 190, Ht. 68 inches. Has well controlled DM Type 2 and well controlled HTN.

Thanks for your question on HCM. Yes it is quite possible. You are taking lipitor 20 mg which is lipid lowering agent. So it will reduce your LDL. And 71 LDL indicates good control. Ideal LDL should be less than 100. So continue same medicine for lipids, continue exercise and diet control. You are doing fine for lipid control.
