Does Keflex Allergy Cause Pain And Swelling In The Hands And Feet?
My 6 year old daughter is on keflex to treat strep throat. First amoxicillin and augmentin were tried before discovering she was allergic to them. She had a rash, very blood shot eyes and painfully swollen hands and feet. After changing to the Keflex, 48 hours and still no change in the severity of the symptoms - could this mean she is also allergic to Keflex?

As per my clinical experience, the allergic symptoms disappear within 48 to 72 hours of discontinuation of the drug. I recommend to add anti allergic medications as Benadryl, cetirizine or else to relieve the symptoms. Later on question to allergy of Keflex can be addressed if persists.
